A gearbox coupling (commonly referred to as an elastic coupling) is a connecting unit of a Bulgarian hoist (T, MT series) that transmits torque from the hoist electric motor shaft to the input shaft of the planetary gearbox.
Key Functions
Rotation Transmission: Connects the coaxial shafts of the motor and gearbox.
Misalignment Compensation: Allows the electric motor rotor to move axially (along the axis), which is necessary for the operation of the motor's built-in cone brake.
Vibration Damping: The elastic body of the coupling absorbs shocks during starting and stopping, protecting the gearbox gears from premature wear.
